SUPPORTERS of Basingstoke Rugby Football Club are being encouraged to buy a brick as a lasting memory of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The club has launched the appeal to raise funds to carry out work within its clubhouse at Down Grange Sports Complex, in Pack Lane, including to the changing rooms.
It is selling a limited number of engraved bricks which will form part of the end wall of a new build for three new changing rooms.
And the deadline to commit to purchasing a brick is this Saturday (August 1).
The cost of this work has been fully funded by grants; however, the bricks will be used to generate funds to pay for additional work.
A message from the club said: “With the current and unprecedented coronavirus epidemic you may wish to purchase one brick (or more) to remember this time and at the same time support the club.”
Bricks cost £100 each, which includes the engraving, and can be bought be members and non-members.
Anyone interested should contact Steve Appleby on 07484853316 before August 1, to enable enough time to include the bricks once the build is underway.
