Basingstoke's cricket scene is getting some fresh energy with the arrival of a new club.
The Basingstoke Capital Cricket Club (BCCC) have recently completed its official registration with both the Hampshire Cricket Board and the England and Wales Cricket Board, marking the beginning of an exciting journey for local cricket enthusiasts.
This year marks the beginning of an exhilarating journey for the club as they dive into Slam Tournaments, engage in midweek T20 matches, and participate in friendly games against various Hampshire league teams on Sundays, all while embracing the challenge of the 40-hour leather ball format.

Club chairman Jessie Edara said it will be a community-driven club.
He added: "We have a diverse and talented pool of players, and for the opening game we anticipate an electrifying 30 overs match where sportsmanship will be on full display. It's a significant milestone for our club, and we are all eagerly looking forward to it."
Looking ahead to 2025, the club are gearing up to take their game to the next level by joining the prestigious Hampshire Saturday League in Division 6.
Despite missing the deadline to join the league in October 2023, the club said they are filled with enthusiasm and determination for the opportunities that lie ahead.
The club's inaugural friendly game is scheduled for Sunday, April 28, at 11.00am at Stratton Park in Basingstoke after an opening ceremony at 10.30am.
