THE Overton Youth FC Under 14 team had a taste of international competition during the Easter weekend, participating in the Belgium Cup.
The young footballers faced off against teams from Germany, France, Denmark, Netherlands, and Belgium, showcasing their skills on a global stage.
Their journey wasn't short of success. The young squad secured a commendable fourth place finish, narrowly missing out on a spot in the finals after a penalty shootout.
The club said this incredible experience wouldn't have been possible without the generous support of sponsors including Basingstoke Deane Rotary Club who made a significant contribution towards travel costs.

The team also extended their gratitude to Editorial Office, IC Safety, local businesses who donated raffle prizes, those who organised fundraising events, online donors, and everyone who attended their events.
"The boys had a chance to develop their football skills on an international stage, bonded over this special shared experience and their love of football, made some memories to last a lifetime and some friends from other teams along the away," the club said in a statement.
The international tour, which had been a tradition of Overton Youth football team, was restarted last year.
