Up-and-coming cricketer, John Turner, is lined up to make his England debut on home turf.
The 23-year-old has been selected for both white-ball squads for Australia's upcoming tour of England.
The action starts with the three-match Vitality IT20 series, commencing at Southampton’s Utilita Bowl on September 11, followed by five Metro Bank ODIs, beginning at Trent Bridge on September 19.
Turner, a Hampshire fast bowler, has an impressive track record, with 42 wickets from 27 T20 matches, peaking with 4-23, and 35 wickets from 17 List A matches at an average of just 17.
This summer, Turner took 4-44 in a closely-fought quarter-final against Leicestershire during the Metro Bank One-Day Cup.
He was also the top-ranking wicket-taker for Hampshire Hawks in the Vitality Blast, bagging 15 wickets from ten games.
The England Men's selection panel announced the line-up for the tours, including Jos Buttler (Lancashire), Jofra Archer (Sussex), and five newcomers: Essex batter Jordan Cox, Warwickshire players Jacob Bethell and Dan Mousley, Leicestershire seamer Josh Hull, along with Turner, for the IT20 squad.
The ODI squad features squad leaders Jos Buttler (Lancashire) and Jofra Archer (Sussex), newcomers Gus Atkinson, Harry Brook, Matthew Potts, Jamie Smith from the existing Test squad, and Josh Hull, added to the Test squad recently.
Bethell and Turner are untapped players in the line-up.
The selection signals the team's strategy for the ICC Champions Trophy, commencing next year.
Turner, with his commendable performance to date, will undoubtedly be a player to watch.
The squads are chock-full of talented players, promising action-packed matches with Australia.
The white-ball tour is expected to be an eventful one, with the mix of experienced and up-and-coming players, like Turner, adding significant interest to the upcoming matches.
With Turner's debut on the horizon, the Australian tour is shaping up to be a thrilling opportunity for the 23-year-old and his fellow debutants.
