THE BASINGSTOKE Bison made it a hat-trick of home wins of the Peterborough Phantoms this season,thanks to a 7-5 victory on Saturday.
The Herd ruled the opening period taking it 3-0 thanks to goals from Mindy Kieras (powerplay), Jamie Line (shorthanded) and Tom Long.
The second session saw leading scorer Ondrej Lauko miss a penalty shot, before Ollie Bronnimann finished a nice move with a simple tap to extend the lead to four. Peterborough hit back as both James Knight and Shaun Yardley netted .
It was left to man-of-the-match Long with restore the three goal lead thanks to an assist from Joe Edwards, by the second buzzer.
The final period saw the Phantoms make it 5-3, as Maris Ziedins netted and then the contest was finished with four goals in the final two minutes.
Peterborough having pulled their netminder scored from Tom Carlon, only for Joe Ciccarello to reply for the Herd.
The visitors pulled their goalie again and man-of-the-match Brent Gough made it 6-5, only for Ciccarello to hit the empty net 3.4 seconds from time to complete the victory.
