HOOK footballer Olly Lancashire has signed for League Two outfit Aldershot Town.
The 23-year-old has put pen to paper on a two-year deal at the Recreation Ground following his release from Walsall, where he has spent the last two seasons.
Lancashire began his career at Southampton, playing in the Championship for the south coast club before moving on to Walsall in 2010.
He said: “I am looking forward to playing locally again for a club that has a solid set up. I do know some of the players and they have all spoken positively about what is going on. I am keen to get going and happy to be here.
“I am a former Aldershot Schoolboy too and played at the EBB Stadium for the district teams as well as for Hook Junior and Robert May’s School.”
Aldershot manager Dean Holdsworth added: “Olly is a bright young man who has a good stature and a real desire to come to us and play for the club.
“I want a centre half who can handle the ball too as well as being a solid defender. Olly can do this and will fit in very well. I am looking forward to working with him.”
Lancashire will play alongside former Brighton Hill Community College pupil Josh Payne, a midfielder who joined Aldershot from Oxford midway through last season.
