Windsor Great Park Illuminated has returned for its fourth year, and it’s every bit as magical as promised.
As a journalist, I had the privilege of attending the VIP preview evening with my family, and the event left us spellbound.
From dazzling displays to delectable food, it was an enchanting night that we will cherish for years to come.
The evening began at The Windsor Tavern, where we were welcomed with a drink—a fitting prelude to the festive trail awaiting us.

The Festive Village on the Obelisk Lawn set the tone, sparkling with cozy cheer and holiday spirit.
The glowing installations along the trail, including favourites like A Winter Walk, Sleigh Bells, and the interactive Elf Party, were thoughtfully curated to immerse visitors in a world of light and wonder.
One of the standout attractions was the Cathedral of Light, where we were awestruck by its grandeur.
The Singing Tree, performing Twelve Days of Christmas, brought smiles to our faces with its whimsical charm.
Other highlights included the Laser Symphony and Windsor Water Ballet, both of which blended artistry and technology to create captivating moments.
The Dreaming Tree was the perfect finale, leaving us with a sense of wonder and warmth.
Foodies are in for a treat, too. The array of culinary options at the Festive Village catered to all tastes.
We savoured Korean Gochujang Glaze wings and cheesy fries from Chick ’N’ Sours.
The Cheeky Hot Daddy burger from Cheeky Burger was a juicy indulgence, and we couldn’t resist finishing with freshly made churros.
Paired with mulled wine and hot chocolate, the dining experience was as delightful as the trail itself.
For families, the carousels and giant wheels offered nostalgic fun, making it a complete package for visitors of all ages.
The organisers have clearly thought of everything to ensure a magical experience—from dog-friendly trails to cozy fire pits where you can toast marshmallows.
If you’re driving from Basingstoke, the venue is an easy 40-minute journey. However, be sure to ignore your GPS as you approach the site. Instead, follow the plentiful signs that guide you directly to the parking at The Savill Garden Visitor Centre.
